“irregardless” 1-year Anniversary

Happy August, 2020?!

Well, it’s been one full year since my first poetry book, “irregardless,” was published. It’s hard to believe a year has come and gone. But damn, what a year!

To mark this milestone, I’m doing a book revision. This is not a second edition, so no big changes, just some fine tuning, little things. A few details I’d wanted to fix. You know, being the editing stickler and perfectionist that I am. 😉

Also considering switching the cover from glossy to matte. They both look good for different reasons, but I originally went with the glossy because I thought it showed off the cover image better, made the colors pop. I didn’t want to lose the ‘depth’ depicted in the graphic, either. Now, I’m thinking to just go for it. Changing that too. We’ll see what I inevitably choose.

While I’d love to do something special, such as holding a contest or giveaway, that’s gonna have to wait for one of my other upcoming books.

As always … Thank you for reading and following me. 🙂

All the Best,

~ Janine ~

How to Survive Friday the 13th

Special or unusual days, as well as, numbers, pose a certain fascination with me. Friday the 13th, is one of those.

This begs the question: Why do they never turn the lights on?

Maybe it’s because the proverbial “they” don’t pay their light bill?

Hmm …

These basic ‘Survival-101’ rules are not just for Friday the 13th, of course, but can apply to just about any horror movie.

Stay safe out there! 😉

Scholastic – World Read Aloud Day

Anyone else have fond childhood memories of Scholastic? I do. Particularly their book fairs, which were always something to look forward to every school year. Also, those colorful book flyers brought home to show your parents, who you would then plead with to please let you get “just one book!” ❤
